Capegard 500 contains Capecitabine (500 mg), an oral prodrug that is converted into the active cancer-fighting agent 5-fluorouracil inside tumor cells. By interfering with DNA and RNA synthesis, it slows down or stops the growth of cancer cells. It is widely prescribed to treat malignancies such as advanced colorectal, gastric, and metastatic breast cancers, either alone or alongside other therapies. Each pack contains 10 tablets. Patients require careful monitoring for common side effects, including hand-foot syndrome (redness and peeling on palms/soles), diarrhea, nausea, and low blood cell counts.
