Casfung® 50, from Glenmark, contains 50 mg of Caspofungin Acetate per vial. This medication is a sterile, lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder intended for intravenous (I.V.) infusion after proper reconstitution. It belongs to the echinocandin class of antifungals and works by inhibiting the synthesis of fungal cell walls. It is indicated for the treatment of severe fungal infections, such as invasive candidiasis and invasive aspergillosis, in adult and pediatric patients. Reconstitution must be performed precisely with specified diluents by a trained healthcare professional before administration. Proper storage is critical.
