ADRICIN, manufactured by Adley, contains 50 mg of Epirubicin Hydrochloride per 25 ml vial, complying with Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP) standards. It is an anthracycline cytotoxic antibiotic indicated as a component of adjuvant therapy in patients with evidence of axillary node tumor involvement following resection of primary breast cancer. It is also used across various multi-agent chemotherapy regimens to treat a range of other malignancies. The drug works by binding to DNA and inhibiting nucleic acid synthesis. This potent oncology medication must be handled with strict hazardous precautions and administered exclusively via intravenous infusion under direct supervision.
