Genotropin®, from Pfizer, contains Somatropin, a recombinant human growth hormone identical to that produced by the pituitary gland. Presented as 36 IU (12 mg/ml) sterile lyophilized powder, it is specifically indicated for treating growth failure in children and adolescents due to growth hormone deficiency, Turner syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, chronic renal insufficiency, or those born small for gestational age. In adults, it treats pronounced growth hormone deficiency, whether childhood or adult-onset. The medication is designed for convenient administration via subcutaneous injection using the integrated GoQuick® pre-filled pen.
