Lopikast

LOPIKAST™ is a fixed-dose combination prescription antiretroviral medication containing Lopinavir (200 mg) and Ritonavir (50 mg). It belongs to the protease inhibitor class and is primarily indicated for the treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV-1) infection in adult and pediatric patients when used in combination with other antiretroviral agents. In this formulation, Lopinavir acts as the primary antiviral agent by inhibiting viral replication, while Ritonavir functions as a pharmacokinetic enhancer (or “booster”) to significantly increase Lopinavir concentrations in the blood. This medication must be taken consistently under strict medical guidance to manage viral loads effectively.
