Posid 50 contains Etoposide (50 mg), a widely used chemotherapy agent that belongs to the topoisomerase inhibitor class. It works by blocking a specific enzyme needed for DNA replication, thereby preventing cancer cells from dividing and growing. This medication is typically prescribed to treat various malignancies, including small cell lung cancer, testicular cancer, certain types of leukemia, and lymphomas. Each box contains 8 capsules. Because it impacts fast-growing cells, patients must be closely monitored for side effects such as nausea, hair loss, and decreased blood cell counts (myelosuppression).
