Entavir 0.5 mg Tablets

Entavir 0.5 mg contains Entecavir, a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) analogue. It is primarily prescribed for the long-term management of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in adults. The medication works by directly inhibiting HBV DNA polymerase, effectively blocking the virus’s replication machinery and lowering the viral load in the body. This critical suppression prevents the virus from multiplying, thereby protecting liver cells from progressive damage, severe inflammation, scarring (cirrhosis), and long-term complications like liver cancer. Each box contains 10 tablets. For optimal systemic absorption, it should always be taken on an empty stomach. Regular monitoring of kidney and liver function via blood tests is essential during therapy.
